Amadi Park Hotel is a luxurious four-star boutique hotel in central Amsterdam, close to Vondelpark, Leidseplein and the Museum Quarter. Its 33 rooms range from single, double and triple rooms to suites, creating a quiet base for exploring Amsterdam-West and the historic city centre.
Our Story
From city edge to sustainable city stay
The story of this address reaches far beyond the hotel. The waterways, park, former hospital grounds and contemporary architecture around Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat each mark a different chapter in the growth of Amsterdam.
That history meets a modern idea in Solid 11: a durable mixed-use building designed so homes, workplaces, shops and a hotel can share one structure and adapt as the city changes.
A hospital beyond the city walls
Near today's hotel, a new Pesthuis opens beside the Overtoomsevaart, then outside Amsterdam. Patients can be brought from the inner city by boat along the Pestsloot, part of a landscape that will later grow into Oud-West.
Vondelpark opens
The Nieuwe Park opens just south of the hotel’s future address. Two years later it takes the name Vondelpark, after a statue of poet and playwright Joost van den Vondel is installed there.
The Wilhelminagasthuis era
The Buitengasthuis is replaced by the modern Wilhelminagasthuis. Its hospital campus shapes this part of Amsterdam for almost a century; after the hospital joins the AMC in 1983, the grounds make room for homes, culture and new architecture.
Solid 11 is completed
Tony Fretton Architects completes Solid 11 on the former hospital site. The mixed-use building combines self-supporting brickwork, natural stone and flexible, structure-free floors intended to serve different uses over a long life.
Amadi Park welcomes its first guests
Amadi Park Hotel opens with 33 rooms in the adaptable building. Its city location, individual service and practical comforts establish the character guests still find here today.
Every room combines custom-made furniture and a comfortable bed with a Nespresso machine, tea facilities, a complimentary minibar and fast free WiFi. Bathrooms feature an environmentally friendly rain and hand shower. Behind the scenes, LED lighting and geothermal heating help reduce the hotel's footprint without taking away from guest comfort.
